From the signs of the Hour: People will stop offering the two Raka`aat of Tahiyaatul Masjid Narrated `Abdullaah ibn Mas`ood رضي الله عنه that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Verily, among the signs of the Hour is that a person will pass through the Masjid but will not offer the two Raka`aat in it.” [al-Saheehah (649) and it is strong due to the supporting chain]

Our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alyhi wasallam) used to say to Bilal (radi Allahu ánhu): ”Relieve us with it (i.e., the prayer).“

If something distressed him or pleased him, he [sallallahu alyhi wasallam] would hasten to pray and talk to his Lord. Anyone who finds himself faced by difficulties and problems and turns to prayer finds strength, patience, relaxation and peace.

[Hadeeth Narrated by Abu Dawood (4985) and Ahmad (23137)]

The Greatest Man Ever

Muhammad ﷺ, peace be upon him, was a shy, reticent man who lived among his people with such high moral character they called him al-Amîn — the Trustworthy.

The Prophet’s ﷺ unique physical appearance, his high character and willingness to sacrifice for others, are often at the essence of any description of him. According to the narrations from his Companions he can be described in the following words:

Muhammad ﷺ was imposing and majestic. His face was luminous like a full moon.

He was taller than medium but not excessive in height. He had wavy hair, which he parted and it never went beyond his shoulders. He was light-skinned with a high brow. He had full eyebrows and a small space between them. His beard was full, his eyes black. His physique was supple and lithe, with a full chest and broad shoulders. When he walked, he was determined and his pace was as if he was walking down hill.

Sajdah is a great psychological advantage and it gives relief to the person concerned as life is full of worries and in this position he gets at least a transient refuge from the agonizing problems. When a person goes to the position of prostration Sajdah his whole body is in active motion. This position can be considered as a mini dive as the musalli (one who offers prayer) goes to rest his forehead on the ground while his hands are placed at the sides. This brings most of the body muscles if not all in active motion.

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and asks him about anything, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days.” [Muslim]

The first Shaheedah (Martyr) of Islam ?

It was Hazrat-e- SUMMAYAH BINT KHABBAT R.A. (May ALLAH be pleased with Her). The daughter of Khabbat and the mother of Ammar Ibn Yasir, embraced Islam in its early stage, she was amongst the first seven people to enter Islam. Throughout the history of Islam, we have very few examples of great zeal and bravery- very few have taken a strong role and remained firm in their belief in the face of hardship. Summayah Bint Khabbat (RA) is one of the few amazing examples who stands out as a role model to all Muslims, men and women alike.
